Longmont Museum and Sustainable Resilient Longmont Co-host Climate Sustainability Roundtable

On Thursday, April 18 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. the Longmont Museum and Sustainable Resilient Longmont (SRL) are teaming up to co-host a climate sustainability roundtable.

The event will be held at the Longmont Museum's Stewart Auditorium, located at 400 Quail Rd.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Sustainable Resilient Longmont to present such an important conversation to the people of Longmont and the region. As a center for culture in Northern Colorado, it’s essential that we provide a forum for people to listen and exchange ideas around the key issues we face as community,” said Justin Veach, manager of the Longmont Museum’s Stewart Auditorium.  

Speakers for the event will present on the topic of the science of climate change and the actions being taken at the state and local levels.

Dr. James Butler is director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Global Monitoring Division. He will be providing a brief history of the primary greenhouse gas that regulates our climate, identifying its link to human civilization, highlighting its changes in past years, and underscoring the impacts we can anticipate in coming years.

Also participating in the event is Longmont City Council Member Joan Peck. “I’m committed to supporting local initiatives in Longmont to pave the way towards a more sustainable future for our community.”
