Longmont Museum summer camps next week will dive into circus, painting and science

Three new camps are on tap for early July as the Longmont Museum’s virtual summer camps continue. Here’s what’s on tap for the week of July 6-10:

Circus Stars

“Move your body in fun and exhilarating ways as you learn circus skills like juggling, balancing, and hula hooping. At the end of the week, the kids will put on a circus show for their parents.”

The camp is for ages 5 to 7 and will meet from 10 to 11 a.m. The cost is $150. Register here

Playful Painting

“Learn to paint acrylic and watercolor paint as you express yourself artistically. Using your imagination and guidance from the instructor, create multiple finished paintings during the week.”

The camp for ages 8 to 12 meets from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $125. Register here

Charge it Up! Mini Science Stars

“Learn and build. Use magnetism, light, and electricity and apply your knowledge to build lightsabers, simple and parallel circuits, compasses, and more.”

The camp is for ages 6 to 8 and will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $185. Register here

The cost of all camps includes a specialized kit of supplies to be picked up outside the Museum the week prior to camp, according to a Wednesday email from the Museum. Need-based scholarships also are available.
