Longmont Creative Crawl. 

On May 14, and every second Saturday of the month, explore Downtown Longmont’s creative district. The creative crawl offers a multitude of events and activities throughout the entire day. The event offers the opportunity to learn more about the community and businesses within the Longmont Creative District. 

According to a description of the event, “This free monthly event brings creativity - anything made of the hand or mind - to take center stage, and engages the community to enjoy interactive activities, local artists & makers, craft food & beverage, live music, shopping, and much more.” 

On Saturday May 14 some of the events that can be expected at the Creative Crawl include the “The Art of Food Fest” from 3-7 p.m. on Fourth Avenue between Coffman Street and Main. At this event patrons can expect an afternoon of art, music, and farm to food truck to table fare. May 12

Movie Night In the Backyard  at Summit Tacos  

Every Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Summit Tacos will be hosting a movie night. Tickets are $5 for adults, and kids under ten-years- old get in free! Back bar will be open slingin' drinks and popcorn. Restaurant is open until 9 p.m. Bring your own chair or blankets!

Front deRanged Comedy Show 

Front deRanged Improv Comedy Troupe is back, and we're hitting the stage at Jesters Dinner Theater one last time before the venue closes its doors at the end of May. Jesters has been our home venue since we started our troupe in 2013, and we've made a ton of memories there (many of them insane and wildly inappropriate)! Help us pack the place so we can say goodbye in style with some serious farewell funny. As always, Front deRanged players will use your suggestions to create scenes, situations, and clever one-liners in an evening of unscripted and unforgiving comedy. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for this 7:30 show, and Jesters offers a full food and drink menu. Buy your tickets in advance for just $10 or pay $15 at the door. This is an adult show, so leave those kiddos at home!

JT & Dan at Bootstrap Brewing 

JT Jones and Dan Froelich are an acoustic music duo playing songs from the 1970's, 80's, 90's, and beyond. They will be performing at Bootstrap Brewing from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday. 

Ignition Dance Fitness- Zumba Class at Elks Lodge 

Join Liliana and Katie, licensed Zumba instructors, for a high energy dance fitness class in the Elks ballroom! Every Monday and Thursday at 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Livestream is also available.

 

May 13

Fun on the Farm: How Does Your Garden Grow? 

The event begins at 9:45 a.m. and ends at 10:30 a.m. at the Heritage Center, Hikes & Events, Parks & Open Space. Bring your kids ages 3-6 to the farm to learn about animals, plants, and agricultural life. Programs include a short story time, hands-on activities, and a take-home craft. Live Music at Brewstrap Brewing 

We have rowdy, live music every Friday and Saturday night from 6-9 p.m. This Friday 10 Year Echo performs a diverse range of genres from the 70's and 80's including the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Steve Miller Band, Joan Jett, and more! Sugar Moon: Wibby Brewing Free Live Music Series 

Wibby Brewing free live music series proudly welcomes Sugar Moon back for an open-air pavilion performance on May 13! Based out of Longmont, Colorado, the female-fronted bluegrass project Sugar Moon blends original and traditional bluegrass music. Members are Elli Varas (guitar/vocals) Kyra Holt (banjo/vocals) Christie Schneider (fiddle) and Matt Malick (bass). As part of the Colorado bluegrass scene, Sugar Moon is unique in their makeup: in such a male-dominated genre their music is undeniably feminine — both with their musical aesthetic and lyrical themes. 

Longmont East Side Haunting History Tour 

Join tour guide Dori Spence, a medium, for the Haunting History Tour and hear the life stories of locals and legends. Some gone, but not forgotten! Others forgotten, but not gone? On the second Fridays from April to November, there will be an East Side Haunting History tour at 7 p.m. A single ticket is $20 and two tickets are $35. Seniors (65+) and students (12-16) receive a reduced price at $15 a ticket. If you would like to go to both tours there is a combo price at $10 per person. Intro to Fly Fishing at Angles Sports Ski, Board and Fly Fishing Shop

This intro class is intended for any age or skill level that is interested in fly fishing and will cover a full basic knowledge of the sport and gear needed. This class will teach the basics of fly fishing (specifically our local Colorado Waters) covering topics like rod and reel differences from spin casting, line leader tippet introductions, different knots and more! The class instructor will be Ryan “Fish” Albert, Head Guide for Angles Sports and will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Lavender Graduation 2022 at Out Boulder County’s Office 

Saturday from 4-6 p.m. LGBTQ+ teens who graduated high school or those who received their GED are invited to the third annual Lavender Graduation. It is free to participate! Participants will receive a graduation gift bag, including a rainbow tassel! If you have never engaged with Out Boulder County or OASOS before, it is no problem! This event is open to any high school aged graduate who identifies as LGBTQ+. Free Day at the Longmont Museum 

On Saturday May 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m visit the Longmont Museum's exhibits for free! Every second Saturday of the month the museum exhibits are free. 

Drag Lotería at Summit Tacos 

From 4-6 p.m. Come for brunch, stay for the drag show! Tickets are $15 and include a drink. This will take place in our backyard, and the back bar will be open for drinks and popcorn! Lotería is bingo with pictures and anyone with a ticket is welcome to play.

TEN (Pearl Jam Tribute) at Bootstrap Brewing 

From 7-10 p.m. TEN - Colorado's Tribute to Pearl Jam, plays all your favorite Pearl Jam songs and then some, at Longmont's Bootstrap Brewery! Nothing better than great live music with tasty beer from your local micro brewery! We mean it, the Bootstrap brews are seriously some of the best you can get!
 

May 15 

LOCO Ukulele Jam with Brian Rezac! At Bootstrap Brewing 

Every Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Bootstrap Brewing hosts a Ukulele jam. Whether you want to learn how to play the Ukulele or already do and want to join the fun, wipe off your uke and join in- it's blast! Host Brian Rezac has extras you can borrow. Or, just come enjoy a beer and watch. All ages and levels are welcome.

 

May 16 

Visit Brown Sheep Mill in Mitchell Nebraska with Longmont Yarn Shoppe 

Participants should arrive at Longmont Yarn Shoppe at 7 a.m. to prepare for the drive to Nebraska, and are expected to return around 6:30 p.m. We have rented an air conditioned charter bus and are going to hit the road to Nebraska for the day to visit Brown Sheep Company, do a tour of the mill and shop at their shop! Grab your knitting needles! Grab your crochet hooks! Grab a shopping bag! The drive will take about 3 to 3 ½ hours one way so please bring a project to work on. Once we arrive at Brown Sheep we will go on a 45 minute to 1 hour tour and then break for lunch. Our group will be divided into two to three separate tour groups. After lunch there will be an opportunity to shop in Brown Sheep’s second’s bins. For more details check the events page

Drop-In Bilingual Storytime at the City of Longmont Public Library 

On Monday from 10-10:30 a.m. join us for stories and songs in Spanish and English for children of all ages! All aged children with a grown-up are welcome, but this storytime is best for 3 years and older. Meet us in the Library's Meeting Rooms, located by the West/Kimbark Street Entrance.

Open Mic with Denny Driscoll at Bootstrap Brewing 

Performers should come at 6 p.m. to sign up. Performers get a complimentary beer for their performance. Email [email protected] for specific questions. The event will conclude at 9 p.m. 

 

May 17 

Karaoke with Nic at Bootstrap Brewing! 

From 6-9 p.m. join Nic at Bootstrap Brewing for a fun-night of Karaoke! Imagine someone who loves music and karaoke just as much as you do, has an eclectic taste in music genres, likes to get the ENTIRE crowd involved...not just the people singing, likes to dance and LOVES to throw a party. Welcome to Nic's Mobile Music world!!

Speakeasy Open Mic 

The Speakeasy Open Mic Night in Longmont is the place to take the stage in Longmont. Sign-up starts at 7 p.m., the first performer starts at 8 p.m. Singers, instrumentalists, comedians, poets, hip-hop artists, and more! All are welcome! Come see the premiere acts in the area, from brand new artists to seasoned performers. The event occurs every Tuesday night. The event will conclude at 12 a.m. 

 

May 18

Drop-In Baby Storytime at the City of  Longmont Public Library 

The reading starts at 10 a.m., get ready for an interactive storytime designed for infants to age 2 and their grownup! Enjoy 20 minutes of short stories, songs, rhymes, bouncing, and fun for children and adults. Baby Storytime is a great way to build language, social-emotional, and pre-literacy skills! Meet us in the Library's Meeting Rooms, located by the West/Kimbark Street Entrance.

Intro to Paddle Boarding Class

The class will meet at Flanders Park on the North Side of Lake McIntosh. The class will be taught by Dakota Serrette, Matt Burditt, and Nathan Otteman. This class is for the total beginner who has little or no experience with SUPing. We will cover: Hard boards vs Inflatables. The differences between a cheap SUP and a quality one. Differences with paddles. How to transport your SUP. How to enter the water. How to mount your board. How to stand up. Where to go and the Colorado safety regulations you must abide by. Basic safety and emergency skills. We will provide Paddleboards and PFDs, but if you have your own equipment it is recommended to bring your own. The class will cost $65 for residents or $81.25 for non-Residents.  

Songwriter Wednesdays at the Firehouse Art Center

The event will start at 6 p.m. and conclude at 8 p.m. The Firehouse Songwriter Workshop is for songwriters, players, lyricists, and music-lovers of all ages, levels, interests, and tastes! Bring your lyrics, songs and instruments to join with fellow songwriters to explore the art and craft of songwriting. Share your originals for feedback and constructive comments. Trivia with Big Bob at Bootstrap Brewing! 

Come play trivia with Big Mouth Bob and Quizmaster Entertainment from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at our Longmont Taproom. The winning team wins a round of beer!

 

May 19 

Glass Fusing for Adults at Crackpots Pottery Studio 

In this introductory class, you will learn the characteristics of glass and how heat transforms it into something so beautiful. We'll give you a comprehensive look at all of the materials and tools available to you at our studio, and we'll guide you through the planning and design of your piece. Your project will be fired and ready for you in approximately one week. The cost of the class is $15 (due at registration), plus the cost of the project you choose that evening. Project prices begin at $8 for a 3" base. The class will begin at 5:30 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. 

Entomology Match the Hatch at Angles Sports Ski, Board and Fly Fishing Shop

Fly-fishing Entomology teaches students the aquatic insects, their life cycles, and other living creatures that are involved in fish diets. The class begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m. This class also helps students read the water and with fly placement when casting. The class is designed for students 16 and up, with a cost of $35 for residents or $43.75 for non-residents.

 

May 20 

Drop-In Family Story Time at the City of Longmont Public Library 

The event begins at 10 a.m. and consists of a 30-minute Friday fun storytime designed for children of all ages and their grown-ups! This storytime will include longer picture books, so expect a little more sitting and listening. Silly singing and movement will also be included. Meet us in the Library's Meeting Rooms, located by the West/Kimbark Street Entrance.

Jazz at the Times Collaborative

An evening of intimate listening room jazz featuring vocalist Karyna Balch and pianist Charles Blenzig at the Times Collaborative in downtown Longmont. Custom cocktails by Abbott & Wallace and small plates by Rising Tiger. A perfect night out in the Longmont Creative District! The event begins at 8:30 p.m. and ends at 11:30 p.m.
