Left Hand Brewing, once again, has released its beer Wheels Gose ‘Round in support of Multiple Sclerosis, or MS, research. World MS Day falls on May 30 and for the entire month the brewery will donate $1 of each Wheel Gose ‘Round brew bought to the National MS Society.
In addition to supporting the cause with small donations, the brewery sponsors Team Left Hand, a group of employees and friends who ride in bicycle races across the country in support of MS research. According to the brewery’s website, the team has raised over $5 million since 2008.
The next ride will take place in California on May 15, followed by the Colorado ride on June 26.

James Beard award-winning author Adrian Miller returns to the Library to talk about his new book, Black Smoke: African American and the United States of Barbecue.
In Black Smoke, Miller chronicles how Black barbecuers, pitmasters, and restauranteurs helped develop this cornerstone of American foodways and how they are coming into their own today. It’s a smoke-filled story of Black perseverance, culinary innovation, and entrepreneurship. Though often pushed to the margins, African Americans have enriched a barbecue culture that has come to be embraced by all. Miller celebrates and restores the faces and stories of the men and women who have influenced this American cuisine.
Adrian Miller is a food writer, recovering attorney, and certified barbecue judge who lives in Denver, Colorado.

As many of you know our co-founders graduated from Ithaca College in upstate New York right across the street from Cornell University. Needless to say, Barton Hall is an event space near and dear to their hearts.
