Longmont proclaims LGBTQ+ Pride Month

City Council Tuesday night proclaimed June 2022 as “LGBTQ+ Pride Month in Longmont, culminating with the Longmont Pride Festival Saturday, June 11.

Mardi Moore, executive director of Out Boulder County, told councilors she is a long-time resident of Longmont and praised the city’s work toward LGBTQ+ rights.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the work you do toward inclusion,” Moore said.

Out Boulder County is hosting a series events throughout the week for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community and allies to celebrate, build community, promote visibility, and spread awareness, according to a Out Boulder County news release.

The week’s highlights include the Longmont Pride Festival on Saturday and the Boulder Pride Festival on Sunday, June 12. 

In Longmont, there will also be a visibility march on Saturday, at 1:15 p.m. starting at Fourth Avenue and Main Street.

The Longmont Pride Festival is slated for 2-6 p.m. at Fourth Avenue between Main Street and Kimbark Street. 

The Longmont Pride Festival is a family focused event that includes activities such as photo booths, a dunk tank and more. Community organizations will be sharing information at booths and pride merchandise from Out Boulder County and other vendors will be available to purchase, according to the OUT Boulder County news release.
