South Pratt Parkway Bridge construction (Macie May/Longmont Observer)

Due to scheduling delays, Boston Avenue will be closed one additional day to traffic east of South Pratt Parkway. The road closure to pave the east side of the intersection will now last until 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The primary impact of the closure is between the intersection and the entrance to Budget Home Center on Boston. No vehicular, bicycle or pedestrian traffic will be allowed to cross South Pratt at Boston during the closure.

Detour routes are set up via Delaware and 1st Avenue, but travelers are encouraged to use South Main Street as an alternate route. St. Vrain Greenway users are encouraged to use Delaware Avenue.

  • South Pratt north and south remain open throughout the closure.
  • Access to businesses on Boston west of South Pratt remains available from South Pratt.  Access to businesses on Boston east of South Pratt is from South Main.

Project Overview

The new South Pratt Parkway Bridge is being widened to safely carry traffic and to provide pedestrian and cyclist facilities along both sides, as well as to safely pass 100-year flood flows of the St. Vrain Creek. Final paving of the bridge and road surfaces will be dependent on weather conditions and may be delayed to spring 2019.
