Longmont Public Safety is hosting a Crime Free Housing class on November 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This class is free and open to the public, however, registration is required.

Owners and managers of rental properties are encouraged to sign up. The class is designed to assist this group in understanding how to "keep drugs and other illegal activity off their properties," in order to "improve the quality of life in these neighborhoods through the reduction of crime," states Longmont Public Safety.

There are a number of benefits to owners which include:

• Improved property value

• Improved personal safety for residents

• Stable, more satisfied tenant base resulting in an increased demand for rental units

• Lower maintenance and repair cost

• More time spent on routine management and less on crisis control

Voters Urged to Drop Off Ballots, Not Mail Them

Colorado voters are being urged to hand in their ballots at a voting center or a 24-hour drop box from now until 7 p.m. Election Day, November 6.

Even if your ballot is postmarked it will not count if it is not in the hands of election officials by the 7 p.m. deadline on Election Day. By using a voting center of a drop box, voters can save themselves the cost of a stamp as well. Read more.
