Longmont Public Library

As anyone who has ever had to learn it can tell you, the English language is difficult. Even without idioms and slang, English vocabulary and grammar trip up even native speakers on a regular basis. Recognizing that practicing a language – over and over and over again – is really the only means to mastering it, the Longmont Public Library is launching a new meet-up group for local English language learners. “Say Hello!”, a new informal English conversation group, will debut on Saturday, January 12 from 10 to 11 am and return every second Saturday of the month thereafter.

Participants will enjoy tea and cookies while practicing conversation with others interested in improving their English in a relaxed, non-judgmental setting. Conversations will be conducted entirely in English and guided by a native English speaker familiar with Spanish. Participants with at least an intermediate level of English proficiency will gain the most from the sessions, but everyone is welcome, regardless of proficiency level or native tongue. The meet-ups will be held in the Unquiet Study Area on the Library’s second floor, and no registration is required. Drop by to say hello, and stay for a while or for the whole time.
