Longmont police are seeking witnesses to a collision in which a bicyclist was struck from behind while riding west on Nelson Road west of South Sunset Street about 6:45 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The cyclist suffered serious injury and was transported to an area hospital after the crash, police stated in a Facebook post.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was not injured, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing and police are asking witnesses who observed the collision and have not yet been interviewed to contact the Longmont Police Services traffic team at 303-651-8555.
