The Rotary Club of Longmont welcomed new members to its board who brought a new dream of the future.

The Rotary Club of Longmont has served the community since 1919. Each year the group focuses on one theme. For 2022-23 the theme was Imagine Rotary. The Rotary Club of Longmont chose to focus on providing comfort and care to each other, to the community, to the nation and to the world, said now-former club president Wein-Pin Yeh.

The new year — which runs from July 1- June 30 — began with a new theme, “create hope in the world.” With the new theme came new officers of the board to see it through.

For the first time in the club’s 104-year history, two members will share the president position. Rose Crispin and Tim Waters will act as co-presidents.

“It’s different and I am really excited about that,” Crispin said in her speech to the group. “We have to go forward.”

Under their leadership, the club hopes to increase its membership by around 25 people per year to reach an overall goal of 150 new Rotarians in three years.

Crispin also said the board is planning to review its current docket of community service projects.

“We are going to take each one of our projects and review, evaluate, enhance — see if it is something we should go forward — or maybe we have done it long enough that we can add something different. We are looking for new and keeping the old,” Crispin said.

The Rotary Club also welcomed a new board to help it meet its new goals. Those members include:
