BOULDER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
************************************************

Boulder County, Colo. -Update to Boulder County Sheriff’s case number 21-2631.

This is a follow-up press release from yesterday’s search for an overdue hiker in the area of the Hessie and Fourth of July Trailheads. On Saturday June 5, 2021, searchers learned there could have been a miscommunication between the overdue hiker and his family.

Searchers were able to determine the overdue hiker had not reached the area Wednesday as first reported but had arrived in the area on Friday shortly before being reported as overdue. With that and other information and the fact the hiker’s original plan was to stay overnight the search mission scheduled for today was suspended.

Later in the morning the Sheriff’s Office was notified by family they had been able to contact the party and that he was not lost or overdue and was driving home. Family was contacted, and they verified the party had returned home.

The associated Boulder County Sheriff’s case number is 21-2631.
