Berthoud to Johnstown
Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the left lanes of Colorado Highway 60 over I-25 will be closed for irrigation work.
Due to weather impacts, the full closure of the Western Frontage Road (County Road 5) south of Larimer County Road 16 will be in place through the beginning of August. Traffic will be diverted to County Road 7 between LCR 16 and Larimer County Road 14.
Starting Thursday, Aug. 10 at 7 a.m. through Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 5 p.m., there will be a full closure of Weld County Road, 46 east of I-25 to allow crews to pour concrete manhole aprons at several locations along WCR 46 to reinforce the manhole structures and create a smoother road surface transition. Motorists should expect an additional 15-20 minutes of travel time.
Westbound WCR 46 traffic will take Colorado Boulevard south to Weld County Road 44, turn west, and continue under I-25 on Colorado Highway 56 to County Road 7, turn north and travel to WCR 46.
Eastbound WCR 46 traffic will take CR 7 south to CO 56, turn east and continue under
I-25 on WCR 44 to Colorado Boulevard, turn north and travel to WCR 46.
The traffic switch on northbound I-25 has been rescheduled for Sunday, Aug. 13, This closure includes temporary full closures of the northbound I-25 on-ramps from Colorado Highway 56 and 60, as well as the northbound I-25 off-ramps to CO 60 and LCR 16. These closures will allow crews to paint new lane striping, relocate barriers and switch traffic onto new northbound I-25 lanes as the project progresses. Motorists should follow posted detour signage and expect 15-20 minute travel impacts.
- Northbound I-25 on-ramp from CO 56 closure, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Northbound traffic will take southbound I-25 to exit 245, turn east on Weld County Road 34 and enter northbound I-25.
- Northbound I-25 off-ramp to CO 60 closure, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Johnstown traffic will continue north to exit 255, turn west on Colorado Highway 402, enter southbound I-25 and travel to exit 252.
- Northbound I-25 on-ramp from CO 60 closure, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Northbound traffic will take southbound I-25 to exit 245, turn east on WCR 34 and enter northbound I-25.
- Northbound I-25 off-ramp to LCR 16 closure, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Johnstown traffic will continue north to exit 255, turn east on CO 402, turn south onto the southeast Frontage Road and travel to LCR 16.
Johnstown to Fort Collins
To move barrier on I-25, single lane closures will take place between Crossroads Boulevard and CO 402 from:
- 9 p.m., Sunday, July 30 until 5 a.m., Monday, July 31
- 9 p.m., Monday, July 31 until 5 a.m., Tuesday, August 1
- 9 p.m., Tuesday, August 1 until 5 a.m., Wednesday, August 2
- 9 p.m., Wednesday, August 2 until 5 a.m., Thursday, August 3
- 9 p.m., Thursday, August 3 until 5 a.m., Friday, August 4
- 9 p.m., Friday, August 4 until 5 a.m., Saturday, August 5
- 9 p.m., Saturday, August 5 until 5 a.m., Sunday, August 6

Daytime work, Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Southbound I-25
- Southbound traffic will be shifted into the median. Trucks may be entering or leaving the work zone. No lane changing in work zone - use caution.
- Upcoming Traffic Shift Change: At 5:00 a.m. on 8/7, 3 southbound lanes will remain open with a traffic shift to the right.
The speed limit for southbound I-25 is 55 MPH through the active work zone. The speed limit for northbound I-25 has been temporarily increased to 65 MPH until further notice to ease congestion.
Southbound West Frontage Road/I-25 On-Ramp at Exit 240
- Left lane is closed 24/7 through August 2023 Construction crews will be working behind the barrier on the left shoulder
- Flaggers will assist motorists through the construction work zone
Caution - Watch for increased truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone
Northbound East I-25 Frontage Road
- Right shoulder closure
- Construction crews will be working behind the cones/drums, prepping curb and gutter- Please use caution
- Trucks entering and exiting the dirt lot west of the Frontage Rd.
The construction schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.
Park-N-Ride
Caution - Watch for increased truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone - Leave plenty of time and space for trucks. Flaggers are in place to guide traffic.plenty of time and space for trucks

The I-25 North Express Lanes Project provides a Courtesy Patrol during commute hours (6 to 9 a.m. and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.) to assist with disabled vehicles within the Project limits from Johnstown to Fort Collins.
About the Project
Communities along the I-25 North corridor are expanding rapidly, contributing to major economic growth in northern Colorado. The Colorado Department of Transportation is supporting this growth by delivering the expansion of I-25 North. Improvements are currently underway along I-25 between Berthoud and Fort Collins (with more to come from Mead to Berthoud).
This project brings economic, environmental and quality of life benefits for northern Coloradans by:
