Dryland Agroecology Research (DAR) will be holding a pair of tree-planting volunteer events later this month.

The events feature hands-on workshops led by Boulder's tree planting experts at DAR, where participants will learn the art of planting bareroot trees and attendees will also enjoy local food and live music during the event.

Between the two events, DAR is hoping to plant 5,000 trees at the Metacarbon Organic Farm to start a regenerative horse grazing ecosystem.

The dates for the event are April 20 and April 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be held at MetaCarbon Organic Farm on Hygiene Road.

Registering for the events can be done here.

"Our Earth Week event is not just about planting trees; it's about regenerating Boulder’s landscapes and building a culture of connection to place," said Anthony Levy, DAR land stewardship specialist. "It's an opportunity for everyone to show their dedication to this larger movement towards a livable future for Boulder County.”

“At Cemex, we enjoy working with local organizations near our Lyons cement plant with shared commitments, like Drylands Agroecology Research and its commitment to biodiversity," added Michael Clausen, Cemex corporate social responsibility manager - Lyons Cement Plant. "Our employees are looking forward to expanding our efforts by supporting this local agriculture project.”
