Work is slated to resume this week on County Line Road between Ninth and 17th avenues.

The ongoing project, which started in July before taking a winter break, includes a number of elements aimed at improving the safety of the road. The second phase that restarts this week is slated to end in May, weather permitting, according to a city news release.

Motorists should expect minor traffic impacts on the east side of County Line Road as work begins on ditch improvements, according to the release. There will be intermittent lane closures and alternate routes are encouraged, the city stated.

The overall project includes widening County Line Road from 17th Avenue to Spring Gulch No. 2 to add on-street bike lanes and left-turn lanes along the entire segment, according to a city wepage dedicated to the project. Intersection improvements also will be made where needed, and sidewalks will be added along the west side of County Line Road, according to the city.

“In addition to making County Line Road safer for all users, these improvements also will increase the multimodal transportation options available on County Line Road,” the city states on the project page.

Final construction will be focused on completing all roadway widening and intersection work between Ninth and 17th avenues, including marking on-street bike lanes, completing sidewalk improvements, and finalizing trail connections at the Jim Hamm Nature Area, according to the news release.

The city is urging residents to “slow for the cone zone” in the construction area.
