Agape Safe Haven celebrates Black History Month with a panel discussion titled "UNITY Begins in the Church: A Discussion of Race, Politics, and Christian Community" at 2 p.m. Feb. 28 via Facebook Live: www.facebook.com/
This is a great opportunity for our executive director, Pastor Gary Jefferson, and our esteemed panelists to reach out to our community and create a dialogue centered around what Christian community means and why Christian community is necessary for all people and all denominations. As a ministry, Safe Haven prides itself on helping the homeless community with volunteers and staff from many different denominations here in Boulder County. Safe Haven asks these denominations to also come together in Christian unity to combat the issues of race and divisive politics.
Our panelists include:
- Adrian Miller — executive director of the Colorado Council of Churches;
- Gary Jefferson — executive director of Agape Safe Haven and lead pastor at Front Range Christian Fellowship Church in Longmont;
- Ivy Hartfield — director of Gospel Expressions Choir Colorado;
- The Rev. Aaron Gray — lead pastor at Christ United Methodist Church in Fort Collins
