NEWS RELEASE
LONGMONT PUBLIC LIBRARY
*************************
Each time Travis Rupp offers a presentation to the Longmont Library, his programs quickly sell out and reviews are glowing, which will only surprise you if you’ve never heard him talk about his passion — beer.

Rupp is a self-proclaimed “beer archaeologist,” and studies the history and evolution of brewing, beers, and ales. In his latest program for the Longmont Public Library, “Beer as Remedy and Scapegoat for Illness in Antiquity,” from 7 to 8 p.m. Oct. 8 via Webex, Rupp will discuss the convoluted and often contradictory characterization of beer as cause and cure for illness.

The program is free, but registration is required and available here. Patrons without internet access or an email address can call 303-651-8472 to register by phone.

Rupp holds the position of lecturer in classics, art history, anthropology and continuing education at the University of Colorado Boulder in addition to his work as innovation and wood cellar manager at Avery Brewing.

Two of his Ales of Antiquity are currently available in cans at Avery, and the audience is encouraged to acquire them ahead of the program for an interactive experience, as Rupp will talk about their history and tasting notes. The program is for those 21 and older.

Unable to attend?  This program may be recorded and posted on our Watch Recent Programs page.
