NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF LONGMONT
*************************

Location: Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Ave.

Date: Thursdays, beginning June 8, 2023

Time: 8:15 a.m. – 10 a.m.

Do you ever look at people riding bikes and wish that you were out there as well? But maybe not so sure of where to go, how to get to a bike path, or whether your tires are even pumped up properly? Or perhaps the thought of a mechanical during your ride is enough to keep you from getting out there?

Thursday morning rides will cover the safety basics – from ensuring the safety of your bicycle (please get a tune up if in doubt), the correct fitting of your helmet and group ride etiquette – to choosing your route using low stress roads, bike lanes, bike paths and lower stress intersections.  We will cover “what to wear and what to bring.”

Rides are 60-75 minutes, and distance varies, depending on weather and group. If it’s been a while since you’ve been on a bike, or are looking for a good group to ride with, come ride with us to see if it’s a good fit.  Please bring your bike (in good working condition), a helmet, water bottle, and ID. All participants will be required to sign a waiver, wear a helmet and obey all traffic laws.

The rides are free, but limited to 12 community members. Please sign up here so that you are registered and may be notified of any changes (usually due to weather).
