The Longmont Public Library has added dozens of classic and modern board games, including some Spanish-language editions, to its collections. Any Longmont resident age 16 and older who has a Library card can check out these games to play at home or at the Library.

Available titles include:

  • Apples to Apples
  • Chess
  • Clue
  • Code Names
  • Dead of Winter
  • Go
  • Lotería
  • Poetry for Neanderthals
  • Scrabble and Scrabble en español
  • Settlers of Catan
  • Sorry
  • Splendor
  • Ticket to Ride

"I am a huge fan of board games, said Josie Brockman, Adult Services Librarian. “We get together with friends every month for game night, so I thought it would be fun to encourage others to do the same with their library card.”

As part of the Lucky Day collection, games can be checked out for two weeks at a time from the Reference Desk on the second floor. Please note that holds cannot be placed on games; rather, they are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Games must be returned to the Reference Desk, and not the book drop, inside the hanging bag provided. If the game or its instructions are lost or damaged, rendering it unusable, a replacement fee will be put on patron's card.

For a full list of available titles, visit bit.ly/BagsandKits and click on the "Board Games" tab or call 303-651-8472.

The Library is not accepting donations of board games at this time; however, you may suggest future additions to the Librarian at the Reference Desk on the second floor.
