“Nonprofits deliver such important services to help members of our community,” said Commissioner Matt Jones. “I am thrilled that Boulder County voters passed this tax to fund non-profit’s facilities so they can focus their time and money on delivering critical services to people.”
The review process for Worthy Cause pool funding includes an evaluation by a multi-departmental staff team that reviews applications alongside the program criteria and requirements each year. The proposals are then reviewed by the commissioners with further vetting by staff where necessary. Final award decisions are made by the Boulder County Commissioners.
“Boulder County voters stepped up to provide funding to help nonprofit organizations defray their capital costs. That helps them dedicate scarce resources to providing much-needed services to our communities,” added Commissioner Claire Levy. “Nonprofit agencies in Boulder County do the difficult and transformative work of connecting and caring for residents to better outcomes in many sectors. It’s humbling to allocate tax money to assist their work,” said Commissioner Marta Loachamin.
Applications for the 2023 funding pool is expected to open in the summer of 2022.
