Boulder County program taking applications for boards and commissions training

People Engaged in Raising Leaders, or PERL, in partnership with Social Venture Partners, is hosting the first session of 2021 boards and commissions training for interested participants.

This training course will begin March 23 and end April 8. Classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6 to 7:30 p.m. online via Zoom.

  • WHEN: March 23 to April 8 on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • TIME: 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • WHERE: Online via Zoom Conference Platform

Training will cover topics such as: boards roles and responsibilities, board applications and interviewing, board culture and survival strategies, and board oversight/management.

There will also be a sponsored meet-and-greet where trainees will have an opportunity to connect and be in the room with current board members and leaders.

Speakers as part of this program include Guillermo Estrada-Rivera, Cultural Brokers/SUMA coordinator; Nia Wassink, owner of Mission Launch; and Robin Valdez, business operations manager in the Boulder County Commissioners’ Office.

There are no fees associated with the offered training course, but there are limited seats available. Interested participants will need internet, a computer, and the appropriate application (Zoom) for the course.
