Climber rescued from Redgarden Wall

The climbers, from Fort Collins and Manitou Springs, began climbing around 10:00 a.m. and did not reach the top of the climb until around dusk and were uncertain of the descent route.

On Saturday, December 4, 2021 at approximately 8:20 p.m., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from two climbers who were stuck near the top of the Redgarden Wall in the Eldorado Canyon State Park and were requesting assistance descending the rock safely. The climbers, from Fort Collins and Manitou Springs, began climbing around 10:00 a.m. and did not reach the top of the climb until around dusk and were uncertain of the descent route.

Rescuers from the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group climbed the East Slabs and reached the climbers at approximately 9:40 p.m. The two climbers were assisted down the rock face and out to the road. The rescue took approximately three hours.

Agencies assisting with this rescue included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
