Colorado District Attorney's Office announces arrest of sexual assault suspect

On Feb. 28, 2023, Justin Whittaker was charged with four counts of Sexual Assault on a Child by One in a Position of Trust. It is alleged that between 2009 and 2017, Mr. Whittaker had sexual contact with several children while they were visiting his home on Westin Drive in Erie.

The District Attorney’s Office and the Erie Police Department believe there may be additional victims or witnesses. District Attorney Michael Dougherty stated, “We encourage victims to come forward. Our dedicated Sex Crimes Unit prosecutors and victim advocates are available to assist and support victims.”

As in every criminal case, these charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
