Berthoud to Johnstown
Monday and Tuesday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Larimer County Road 16 under I-25 will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic with flaggers for grading and erosion control.
Starting Thursday at 7 a.m. through Aug. 15 at 5 p.m., a full closure of Weld County Road 46 east of I-25 is planned to allow crews to pour concrete manhole aprons at several locations along WCR 46 to reinforce the manhole structures and create a smoother road surface transition.
- Westbound WCR 46 traffic will take Colorado Boulevard south to Weld County Road 44, turn west, and continue under I-25 on Colorado Highway 56 to County Road 7, turn north and travel to WCR 46.
- Eastbound WCR 46 traffic will take CR 7 south to CO 56, turn east and continue under I-25 on WCR 44 to Colorado Boulevard, turn north and travel to WCR 46.
There will be a traffic switch on northbound I-25 on Sunday, Aug. 13, with temporary full closures of the northbound I-25 on-ramps at Colorado Highway 60, and the northbound I-25 off-ramps at Larimer County Road 16. These closures will allow crews to paint new lane striping, relocate barriers and switch traffic onto new lanes as the project progresses.
- Northbound I-25 off-ramp to CO 60 closure, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Johnstown traffic will continue north to exit 255, turn west on Colorado Highway 402, enter southbound I-25 and travel to exit 252.
- Northbound I-25 on-ramp from CO 60 closure, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Northbound traffic will take southbound I-25 to exit 245, turn east on WCR 34 and enter northbound I-25.
- Northbound I-25 off-ramp to LCR 16 closure, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Johnstown traffic will continue north to exit 255, turn east on CO 402, turn south onto the southeast Frontage Road and travel to LCR 16.
Due to weather impacts, the full closure of the Western Frontage Road (County Road 5) south of LCR 16 will be in place through August. Traffic will be diverted to County Road 7 between LCR 16 and Larimer County Road 14.
Johnstown to Fort Collins
To perform caisson work for future sign structure installation, single lane closures on northbound I-25 will take place between Colorado Highway 402 and Crossroads Boulevard nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Tuesday.
To install overhead sign structures above active lanes on I-25 and shift northbound I-25 into final alignment, full closures of northbound I-25 from exit 255/CO 402 to exit 257/US 34 will take place nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Tuesday through Friday.
- Northbound I-25 traffic will exit at exit 255/CO 402 and turn west. Continue west on CO 402 to Colorado Highway 287 and turn north. Continue to US 34 and turn east to access northbound I-25.
To shift traffic into the new final alignment on southbound I-25 between Prospect Road and Colorado Highway 392, full closures of the southbound I-25 off- and on-ramps at Harmony Road, intermittent impacts on the southbound I-25 off-ramp to CO 392 and single lane closures on southbound I-25 will take place from 9 p.m., Thursday, until 5 a.m., Friday.
- Southbound I-25 off-ramp traffic will go south on I-25 to exit 262/CO 392 and turn left. Continue back onto northbound I-25 to exit 265/Harmony Road.
- Southbound I-25 on-ramp traffic will go north on I-25 to exit 268/ Prospect Road and turn left. Continue west to the southbound I-25 on-ramp.

Daytime work, Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Southbound I-25
- Southbound traffic will be shifted into the median. Trucks may be entering or leaving the work zone. No lane changing in work zone - use caution.
- Upcoming Traffic Shift Change: At 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 7, three southbound lanes will remain open with a traffic shift to the right.
The speed limit for southbound I-25 is 55 mph through the active work zone. The speed limit for northbound I-25 has been temporarily increased to 65 mph until further notice to ease congestion.
Southbound West Frontage Road/I-25 On-Ramp at Exit 240
- Left lane is closed 24/7 through August 2023. Construction crews will be working behind the barrier on the left shoulder.
- Flaggers will assist motorists through the construction work zone.
Caution - Watch for increased truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone.
Northbound East I-25 Frontage Road
- Right shoulder closure
- Construction crews will be working behind the cones/drums, prepping curb and gutter- Please use caution.
- Trucks entering and exiting the dirt lot west of the Frontage Road.
The construction schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.
Park-N-Ride
Caution - Watch for increased truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone - Leave plenty of time and space for trucks. Flaggers are in place to guide traffic.

The I-25 North Express Lanes Project provides a Courtesy Patrol during commute hours (6 to 9 a.m. and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.) to assist with disabled vehicles within the Project limits from Johnstown to Fort Collins.
About the Project
Communities along the I-25 North corridor are expanding rapidly, contributing to major economic growth in northern Colorado. The Colorado Department of Transportation is supporting this growth by delivering the expansion of I-25 North. Improvements are currently underway along I-25 between Berthoud and Fort Collins (with more to come from Mead to Berthoud).
This project brings economic, environmental and quality of life benefits for northern Coloradans by:
