Do This Week's Challenge
See the instructions below to gather your supplies, or if you don’t have the supplies you need at home, pick up a kit at the Library's Curbside Delivery, 409 4th Ave. (while supplies last). Then, see the instructions below to make this week's craft!
Supplies:
- 2 gray or silver paper plates
- Brown construction paper or cardboard
- Green construction paper
- Black construction paper or pom pom
- Googly eyes
Instructions:
- This koala is made out of 2 silver paper plates. Cut one of the plates in half. Use one-half for the body, and the other half to make 2 ears (circles) about 2 ½ inches across. Cut a fringe on part of the ears.
- Divide the edge of the other paper plate into 4 parts, and cut off about an inch of the rim all the way around. Use these for the arms and legs.
- Cut about a 4½-inch circle out of the remaining part of the plate for the head.
- Cut a piece of cardboard 2 x 12 inches for the tree.
- Cut out several green leaves and a black oval for the nose.
- Assemble the koala as shown, gluing and stapling as necessary. Add 2 wiggly eyes and your cute koala is complete.
