The nationally recognized Center for Prevention and Restorative Justice  in the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office is hosting an online Restorative Justice Facilitator Training in January and is seeking a diverse pool of applicants. The DA’s Restorative Justice & Diversion Program is highly successful and works to help individuals get back on the right track.

This 20-hour training will prepare participants to facilitate restorative justice conferences for the DA’s restorative justice program and will focus on the principles of restorative justice, the process from preconference to debrief, and the experiential practice of facilitation. CPRJ’s experienced staff lead the training and provide an engaging experience.

Past participants have said:

“I’m so thankful to have learned these skills, meet like-minded folks, and hope to give back to the community via what I have learned.”

“The hands-on learning and role-playing were extremely beneficial.”

“Thank you so much for making this training available! It was incredible! One cannot help to have grown personally after the trainings. What an incredible service that your department offers to our community.”

The training fee of $250 will be waived for those who commit to volunteer with the DA’s restorative justice program for at least a year. In order to volunteer, you must complete all 20 hours of the training (including a two-hour prerequisite course) and a background check once training is complete.

Spaces are limited and we are especially seeking people of color, Spanish speakers, young people and men. All are welcome to apply.

Please contact Kelly Taylor Russell at [email protected] to register or visit https://www.bouldercounty.org/district-attorney/center-for-prevention-and-restorative-justice/ for more information on how to apply.
