Fallen hiker rescued at Lost Gulch overlook

The 28-year-old female from Broomfield was then transferred to Boulder Community Hospital with unknown injuries

On Monday May 9, 2022 at approximately 3:15 PM., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a female who had fallen off the mountain.

Rangers from the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks responded as well as City of Boulder Fire Department and members of Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.

Rescuers stabilized the injured hiker and then used a system of ropes to up-haul her on a stretcher to the top of the rock, where she was then carried out to an awaiting ambulance. The 28-year-old female from Broomfield, Colorado was then transferred by American Medical Response (AMR) to Boulder Community Hospital with unknown injuries. The rescue took approximately one and half hours.

Agencies assisting with this rescue included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, American Medical Response, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and City of Boulder Fire Department.
