Education

BMoCA/Firehouse Art Center Studio Project Internship- The Firehouse Art Center and BMoCA are thrilled to announce a new collaboration for the Spring 2021 Studio Project Internship.  Through this collaboration, we are able to bring Studio Project Internship online and engage a wider geographic range of high school youth.

Applications are being accepted until Friday, December 11 at 5pm.  Studio Project Internship is BMoCA’s long running teen arts internship that provides purposeful engagement for high school aged youth. It provides opportunities for teens to talk about art, art making, and social issues as they affect young people. Interns work with local art activists, partner with nonprofits active in the local community, and plan fun and engaging events to share the artwork they created during the program.

Studio Project is a meaningful experience for each of the teen participants, and the program cultivates the next generation of artists, art activists and art appreciators. More information on the internship can be found at www.bmoca.org/programs/teen.

About BMoCA:  The mission of Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA) is to be a catalyst for creative experiences through the exploration of significant art of our time. As a non-collecting institution, BMoCA presents rotating exhibitions and programs that stimulate active participation in the global dialogue about contemporary art. The museum annually serves over 100,000 people each year with 9+ exhibitions and over 500 programs presented for audiences of all ages and backgrounds. BMoCA is located at 1750 13th Street in downtown Boulder, Colorado. BMoCA.org / 303.443.2122.

Zoom Art Classes- The Spring Session of Zoom Art Classes starts soon, with a mini December session starting on December 1st.  The students just participated in their first art showcase at a gallery and many attended the 2nd Friday Artist Talk.  More information on classes can be found at https://bit.ly/zoomartfire.

Holiday Market

Classified as non-essential retail, the Firehouse Art Center is moving forward with the Shop Small Boutique.  We have gathered seven talented artists and crafters together for this year’s Small Business Saturday and Artist Sunday.  Vendors will be spaced throughout the gallery to keep socially distanced.  The Firehouse is committed to offering our patrons a way to purchase unique local gifts while also offering our artist members a chance to share their creativity!  Come shop on Saturday, November 28, and Sunday, November 29, from 12pm-5pm.  https://www.facebook.com/events/1342171642792374/
