The Colorado Green Building Guild (CGBG), with support from Boulder County, is hosting an information session, “Building Passive House: Optimizing Costs + Benefits”, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 for building professionals and Marshall Fire-impacted residents. This online meeting will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. via the Zoom platform.

  • What: Information session — Building Passive House: Optimizing Costs + Benefits
  • When: Wednesday, April 6, 2022
  • Time: 6-7:30 p.m.
  • Where: Zoom; register online

This event is the third in a year-long series of conversations and trainings hosted by the CGBG and sponsored by Boulder County. This series is intended to connect high performance building professionals and members of the public looking for expert advice and live Q&A about the ins and outs of building a high-performance home.

This presentation will be primarily directed at building professionals and will include technical details that enable the successful execution of passive house projects. Homeowners and other interested individuals are also welcomed to attend and are encouraged to share information about this event with the professional teams they are working with.

Passive house is a voluntary standard for energy efficiency that reduces a building's ecological footprint and results in low energy requirements for space heating or cooling. Xcel Energy recently announced a $37,500 rebate for Marshall Fire rebuilding projects that meet Passive House standards.

This event will include a virtual tour of a recently completed passive house in Louisville and a structured discussion with ample Q+A time available. The session will be available in both English and Spanish and will be recorded.

Boulder County is a sponsor of CGBG and is supporting the series with Spanish interpretation services. CGBG is a non-profit organization based in Boulder County that is run by volunteer building professionals (architects, builders, engineers, and building science interested individuals).
