Injured hiker rescued, declines ambulance transport

On Sunday, June 6, 2021, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center was notified of an injured hiker on the Royal Arch Trail.

A twenty-one-year-old male from Boulder, CO sustained a non-life-threatening leg injury while hiking on the Royal Arch Trail.  Rocky Mountain Rescue Group provided a litter evacuation to the trailhead. The injured hiker declined ambulance transport.  The rescue lasted approximately one hour.

Agencies assisting with this rescue included: Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks.
