The League of Women Voters (LWV) of Boulder County is planning a post-election community coffee and discussion.

“Join other Boulder County residents to debrief the election and consider the election’s impacts on future elections,” the organization said in a news release.

Potential discussion topics include:

  • How was the experience of Boulder’s first use of Instant Runoff Voting (IRV) form of Ranked Choice Voting?
  • Why did all the Longmont ballot measures fail?
  • Why did Broomfield cancel their planned IRV-RCV contests?
  • Why didn’t the St Vrain Valley School District have an election?
  • Did vote splitting impact any of Longmont’s municipal elections?
  •  Did any candidate in Lafayette or Superior or Boulder get majority support?
  • How did campaign money, negative campaigning and possible campaign violations affect the election?
  • Should election administrators change how results are reported?

The group says it’s not just for women and not just for those who have voted.

“LWV is a nonpartisan political organization that works to empower voters and defend democracy,” it explained in a news release.

The Post-Election Community Coffee and Discussion goes Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Rule4, 3002 Bluff Street, Suite 100.

Registration is required and there’s a maximum capacity of 60.

LWVBC will be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to EFAA and Sister Carmen.
