NEWS RELEASE
LONGMONT PUBLIC LIBRARY
*************************
With the public still not allowed to wander the Longmont Library, local librarians have been creative in meeting the needs of patrons hungry for library materials. The latest solution to connect library patrons with library materials is the introduction of the “Pick-a-Topic Takeaway Bag.” The concept is as simple as it sounds: a patron picks a topic, librarians fill a bag with materials related to that topic or interest, and the patron picks it up through the Library’s Curbside Delivery process.

Pick-a-Topic Takeaway Bags contain five to 10 items and are available for all age groups and reading levels. Library cardholders can request a Pick-a-Topic Takeaway Bag, with English or Spanish materials, in two ways: by phone or through an online form at https://bit.ly/BagsandKits. Patrons can request bags through the Children's and Teens' Services Desk at 303-651-8477 or the Adult Services Desk at 303-651-8472. Librarians aim to have the bags ready for pick up within two to three days, and patrons will be notified by phone call or email when their bags are ready. Due dates for each item in the bag will be noted on the included checkout receipt, and patrons may only check out one Pick-a-Topic Takeaway Bags at a time. Based on patron interest, Pick-a-Topic Takeaway Bags are planned to continue for as long as the Library offers its Curbside Delivery service.

For complete information on the new service, to request a bag, and to learn how the Curbside Delivery service works, please visit https://bit.ly/BagsandKits and select the “Pick-a-Topic Takeaway Bags” tab.
