NEW RELEASE
LONGMONT MUSEUM
*************************
Welcome back everyone! Discovery Days is back starting next week! Music and Movement will begin on Tuesday, January 17; Art will begin Wednesday, January 18.
There is one BIG change starting this semester – we are changing the final session time of Discovery Days! Instead of starting the last session of the day at 12:30 pm, we will be starting it at 1 pm!
This change will hopefully enable folks who have kids attending morning activities/pre-school, to have a quick lunch and then come join us for our 1 pm sessions of Discovery Days Art and Discovery Days Music & Movement.
Our theme next week (January 17, 18, 19, & 20) is Construction!
About Discovery Days
- Ages 2–6 with an adult
- $4 for each child ages 2+ per member, $4.50 for each child ages 2+ per non-member
- Attend a session that fits your schedule—no registration needed
Discovery Days is an early childhood program that encourages children ages 2 to 6 and their caregivers to engage together in educational, hands-on art, music, and movement activities. When you attend Discovery Days with your child, you help them cultivate important school-readiness skills, such as language development, attention, concentration, fine motor skills, emotional regulation, and play and social abilities.
Discovery Days Music & Movement
- Tuesdays; Classroom C
- January 17 – May 29 am, 10:30 am, 1 pm; 45 min–1 hour per session
During Tuesday, January 17, Discovery Days Music & Movement will be held in the Stewart Auditorium instead of classroom C! Classroom C is having the AV system updated, so you can enjoy the beautiful Stewart Auditorium instead on this coming Tuesday!
Children and their parents and caregivers can enjoy moving to music together! Ms. Emma or Ms. Cora from Integral Steps play music, play instruments like the flute, lead dancing and wiggling, and lead sing-a-longs!
Discovery Days Art
- with Ms. Leigh
- Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays; Classroom AB
- January 18 – May 5
- 9 am, 10:30 am, 1 pm; 1 hour 15 minutes per session
Discovery Days Art gives children opportunities to learn, create, play, and grow alongside their family or caregiver. They can make art, learn and practice hand-skills, socialize with other children, explore the sensory table, and experience a classroom environment in their own self-directed manner.
Here is a preview of what we can make in Discovery Days Art next week:
