Longmont Museum Discovery Days: Halloween theme

The theme for this week (Oct. 25 to 28) at the Longmont Museum Discovery Days is Halloween. 

About Discovery Days:

Discovery Days is an early childhood program that encourages children ages two to six and their caregivers to engage together in educational, hands-on art, music, and movement activities. When you attend Discovery Days with your child, you help them cultivate important school-readiness skills, such as language development, attention, concentration, fine motor skills, emotional regulation, and play and social abilities.

• Ages two to six with an adult
• $4 for each child member, $4.50 for each child non-member
• Attend a session that fits your schedule—no registration needed

Discovery Days music and movement:

Children and their parents and caregivers can enjoy moving to music together. Ms. Emma from Integral Steps plays music, plays instruments like the flute, leads dancing and wiggling, and leads sing-a-longs.

• Sept. 13 to Dec. 6
• 9 to 10:15 a.m., 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.,12:30 to 1:45 p.m.

Discovery Days Art with Ms. Leigh:

Discovery Days Art is back in the big classroom AB that we enjoyed most of last spring. This classroom is halfway down the education hall; you'll see the sign.

• Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays; Classroom AB
• Sept. 7 to Dec. 9
• 9 to 10:15 a.m., 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.,12:30 to 1:45 p.m.

Discovery Days scholarships

Scholarships are available for Discovery Days thanks to support from the Dodge Family Fund and the Stewart Family Foundation.

Each child who is awarded a scholarship will receive a free 10-pass punch card to be used in Discovery Days classes. Scholarship punch cards can be issued digitally and can be renewed.

• Nov. 1, 2, 3, 4: Día de los Muertos
• Nov. 8, 9, 10, 11: Airplanes and things that fly

• Nov. 22, 23, 24, 25: No Discovery Days for Thanksgiving break
• Nov. 29, 30, Dec. 1, 2: Life in the ocean
• Dec. 6, 7, 8, 9: Winter wonderland

Big kid days:

For children up to age 11 on late start or no school days in the SVVSD. Regular fees apply.

Late start:

• Wednesdays, Sept. 7, Nov. 2, and Dec. 7, 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
• No School: Friday, Oct. 14, all sessions
• Fees per child: $4 member, $4.50 nonmember 
• Ten-pack punch card: $35 member, $40 nonmember
