This season the Longmont Museum is bringing back Discovery Days: Music & Movement on Tuesdays (starting Sept. 13) in addition to the regular Discovery Days: Art on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (started Sept. 7). The theme next week (Sept. 13 to 16) is yummy foods.
About Discovery Days
- Ages 2 to 6 with an adult
- $4 for each child member
- $4.50 for each child non-member
- Attend a session that fits your schedule — no registration needed
Discovery Days is an early childhood program that encourages children ages two to six and their parents or caregivers to engage together in educational, hands-on art, music, and movement activities.
When you attend Discovery Days with your child, you will help them cultivate important school-readiness skills, such as language development, attention, concentration, fine motor skills, emotional regulation, and play and social abilities.
Discovery Days Music & Movement
- Tuesdays; Classroom C
- Sept. 13 to Dec. 6
- 9:00 to 10:15 a.m., 10:30 to 11:45 a.m., 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.
Children and their parents and caregivers can enjoy moving to music together.
This program begins on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
Discovery Days: Art with Ms. Leigh
- Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays; Classroom D
- Sept. 7 to Dec. 9
- 9:00 to 10:15 a.m., 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.,12:30 to 1:45 p.m.
The first two weeks of Discovery Days: Art will be held in the old classroom D at the end of the Education Hall, and then Discovery Days: Art will move back into the big classroom AB that we enjoyed most of last spring.
Discovery Days Scholarships
Scholarships are available for Discovery Days thanks to support from the Dodge Family Fund and the Stewart Family Foundation.

Each child who is awarded a scholarship, will receive a free 10-pass punchcard to be used in Discovery Days classes. Scholarship punchcards can be issued digitally, and can be renewed.

Big Kid Days
For children up to age 11 on late start or no school days in the SVVSD. Regular fees apply.
- Late Start: Wednesdays, September 7, Nov. 2, and Dec.7, 9 a.m. to 10: 15 a.m.
- No School: Friday, October 14, all sessions
- Fees per child: $4 member, $4.50 nonmember
- 10-pack punchcard: $35 member, $40 nonmember
