March 31 is deadline to apply for current Marshall fire financial assistance categories

Funds will continue to be distributed through April 22

March 31 has been set as the application deadline for the current Marshall Fire financial assistance categories that Boulder County has been helping oversee with Community Foundation Boulder County and Elevations Credit Union. Anyone who has not yet applied for financial assistance should do so by March 31, 2022 if they are in the following categories as a result of the Marshall Fire:

  • Has a home that was destroyed or damaged
  • Was a renter or homeowner displaced due to smoke and/or ash contamination
  • Was forced to evacuate
  • Lost the ability to work (including home businesses)
    • Note: includes loss of employment related to businesses temporarily closed due to major smoke/ash damage if employer can provide verification of being closed and remediation work completed
  • Lost tools of the trade (excludes computers or computer equipment)
  • Has a home that was uninhabitable due to smoke, ash, or other hazardous conditions
  • Has a small business that was destroyed or damaged (including home businesses)

Applications for these categories received up until March 31 will continue to be processed and Boulder County will distribute the financial assistance by appointment through April 22. More information on qualifying for these categories and the link to apply are available at www.boco.org/MarshallFireAssistance. Application assistance is available in multiple languages by reaching out to [email protected]. Financial assistance is available for all qualifying households regardless of documentation status.

Opportunities for additional financial assistance for those impacted by the Marshall Fire are being identified and will be announced in coming weeks.
