Municipal issue committee Our Best Longmont is pleased to announce its support for Longmont Ballot Question 3D:
SHALL THE CITY OF LONGMONT HOME RULE CHARTER BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 12.4 OF THE CHARTER TO ALLOW FOR LEASES OF CITY PROPERTY FOR UP TO 30 YEARS?
Our Best Longmont believes it is important to help the Longmont economy recover through methods that benefit people of all incomes. A critical way to do this is allowing the city of Longmont the option to make long-term land use commitments for projects of sufficient value to the community for environmental-, cultural- or housing-related reasons.
“We can encourage our growing clean energy economy, and provide quality housing at all prices. This will make sure the people who made Longmont a great place to live will always be able to afford to live here. Elevating our arts and culinary community is another important benefit,” said Our Best Longmont’s chairperson and registered agent Shakeel Dalal.
