The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) will conduct a remote Commissioners’ Information Meeting (CIM) on Friday, May 6, 2022, in Proceeding No. 22I-0052EG, regarding the Commission’s investigation into how climate change and extreme weather may impact electric and gas utilities.

The CIM will be held from 1:00 p.m. through 3:00 p.m. Individuals who wish to listen to the event may do so through the Commission’s webcast page:  https://puc.colorado.gov/webcasts and accessing Hearing Room A.

At this meeting, Public Service Company of Colorado and Tri-State Generation and Transmission will make presentations to the Commission regarding their efforts in wildfire mitigation and discuss their data collection and detailed element modeling of each of their transmission and distribution circuits. These are critical elements of Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) activities.

The Commission approved the Public Service Company of Colorado’s Wildfire Mitigation Plan by Decision No. C21-0237, issued April 16, 2021. The Company’s WMP provides for detailed inspections, analyses, remediation, vegetation management, infrastructure hardening, and operational protocols for both transmission and distribution assets in the identified wildfire risk zones.
