The Sierra Club announced that they are endorsing Representative Jonathan Singer in his bid for Boulder County Commissioner District 2.

Jonathan Singer said, “I’m extremely grateful for the support and endorsement of the Sierra Club. I know they don’t always endorse in primaries. My first job after college worked on a campaign to protect public lands. As a lawmaker, I’ve worked every day to protect my constituents' health and safety, address the Climate Crisis, and create a more sustainable world for our children.”

Rebecca Dickson, Chair of the Sierra Club-Indian Peaks Group, said “Jonathan Singer has a long history of fighting to protect our environment. He will bring important experience and deep dedication to protecting Boulder County public lands.”

As a lawmaker, Rep. Singer passed bills to make electric vehicles more affordable, increase inspections and penalties for oil and gas violators, reduce carbon emissions, expand renewable energy, and give local governments authority over fracking. As a Candidate for County Commissioner, Rep. Singer has pledged to create green jobs with a Boulder County Green New Deal and protect parks and open spaces.

The Sierra Club joins the Working Families Party, the National Association of Social Workers, Congressman Joe Neguse, Secretary of State Jena Griswold, as well as the Mayors of Boulder, Louisville, Longmont, Nederland and hundreds more in supporting Jonathan’s campaign.
