Today, Colorado State Treasurer Dave Young highlighted two great resources, the Colorado Loans to Increase Mainstreet Business Economic Recovery (CLIMBER) program and the Small Business Development Centers (SBDC).

“Small businesses are at the heart of Colorado’s economy,” said Dave Young, Colorado State Treasurer. “We want to continue seeing Colorado businesses succeed. Through the CLIMBER program we provide below market interest rate working capital loans to Colorado’s small businesses, promoting small businesses recovery, saving jobs, and helping support Colorado’s economy.”

Day Five of Small Business Week: Resources

The Colorado Loans to Increase Mainstreet Business Economic Recovery (CLIMBER) program is a program for small business owners offered by the Colorado Department of the Treasury that provides up to $250 million in working capital loans to Colorado small businesses through 2024.

CLIMBER promotes small businesses recovery, saves jobs, and helps strengthen the Colorado economy. Small businesses with 1-99 employees that were financially stable before the pandemic but now need help to succeed may apply for working capital loans of between $10,000 and $500,000. Below-market interest rates and a one-year deferred payment option make the program a strong option for Colorado small businesses.

An additional tool for Colorado businesses is the nearest small business development center which offers networking and training opportunities. The Colorado SBDC Network consists of 15 community-based full-time centers and more than 70 part-time centers that provide free one-on-one consulting services. It also helps guide future entrepreneurs on how to start their own small business including guidance on the process of registering a small business.

About National Small Business Week

For 60 years, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, recognizing the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners. More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business and create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year.

As part of National Small Business Week, the U.S. Small Business Administration takes the opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from all 50 states and U.S. territories. Every day, they’re working to grow small businesses, create 21st-century jobs, drive innovation, and increase America’s global competitiveness. And in recognizing the changing face of America, the Small Business Administration’s National Small Business Week awards honor individuals and businesses that reflect our nation’s rich diversity.
