Learn about Restorative Justice Programs
Reserve your seat at the Library’s presentation of “Restorative Justice in our Community: 25 Years of Practice” from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, in the Library Large Meeting Room, 409 4th Ave. Learn about Longmont’s Community Restorative Justice programs through a dynamic presentation by Crystal Salvador-Zapote, Longmont Community Justice Partnership (LCJP) staff, and Linda Leary, LCJP volunteer for 15 years. We will explore the history of restorative approaches and processes, as well as share stories of LCJP, a community-based restorative justice non-profit. Fall Harvest at Sandstone Ranch
Oink! Moo! Cock-a-doodle-do! Visit us from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Sandstone Ranch Visitors Center, 3001 Sandstone Drive, for a morning of pumpkin painting, crafts, games, music and barnyard fun. Fun for all ages! Bring a sack lunch, sunscreen and bug repellent. $3/person or $10/family suggested donation collected at event. No registration necessary. Volunteers needed! Longmont Restaurant Week: Oct. 8-17
Longmont Restaurant Week returns for its fourth year this October! During the 10 days of Longmont Restaurant Week, all participating “fooderies” and “drinkeries” offer a special menu at one of two price points: $18.71 or $28.71. Special to this year’s event, drinkeries throughout Longmont are crafting special beverages to raise a glass in celebration of Longmont’s 150th birthday. Celebrate Día de los Muertos Downtown!
The Día de los Muertos Family Celebration will open the season in downtown Longmont this Saturday, Oct. 9, from 2-6 p.m. We are bringing back the street festival, including music and dance performances, arts and craft activities, cultural education, delicious food, downtown business altars, and the Gigantes Procession. Día de los Muertos exhibitions at both the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road, and the Firehouse Art Center, 667 4th Ave., will also be open and free. Park downtown or at the Longmont Museum and take the free shuttle between locations so you can enjoy all the activities of the day. Outdoor Jazz Concert at the Library
Join the Longmont Public Library for a night of great jazz on the Library’s West patio from 6:30-7:30 pm on Monday, Sept. 27. The Longmont All-Star Jazz Band is made up of some of the local high schools’ best players. Longtime teacher Bill Wilkinson, who started the band in 2001, directs the 17-player band. The group has played at Dazzle Night Club in Denver, performed with the Lawrence Welk Band in Missouri and at the Olympic Torch ceremony in 2002! Registration is NOT required, and there will be limited seating of 50 chairs on the patio. Seating will begin at 6 pm.

Volunteers Needed to be Victim Advocates
The Longmont Department of Public Safety has several openings for victim advocate volunteers. Advocates work with the victims of crimes, accidents, natural disasters and other critical events to provide support services that include providing information, emotional support and referrals to other local resources that may be able to offer the victim additional assistance and services. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old and be able to work four shifts per month for a full year. Friday Afternoon Concert: Trio Arcadia
Join the Longmont Museum starting at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, for a live in-person concert featuring Trio Arcadia. Recognized for their varied and innovative repertoire, the internationally acclaimed Trio Arcadia presents music spanning five centuries and diverse world cultures. Formed in 2019, the ensemble is comprised of members of the Colorado Symphony who are renowned soloists and have performed on six continents. With an exciting combination of flute, horn, and harp, a Trio Arcadia performance offers a unique blend of classical, jazz, and world music. $12 general admission, $10 students/seniors, $8 members.
