Free guided bird walks at Sandstone Ranch

Stay safe — call before you dig!

Spring is a popular time to dig into yard work and construction projects … but if you’re not careful, you could dig right into a utility line! Remember, Colorado law requires you to call 811 at least three business days before you do any excavation work, so that all utilities in the area can be notified and mark their lines with paint or flags. Breaking a utility line can be expensive and even dangerous for services like power or gas lines, so always remember to call before you dig! For more information, go online to the Longmont website and search the keyword “811.”

“Tales from the Tipping Point” at Longmont Museum

Follow the antics of an unusual storyteller Betsy Tobin costumed in an odd assortment of recycled materials as she playfully transforms herself, the space, and the materials that surround her and provides a brief history of consumerism. This special performance will start at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 20 at the Longmont Museum. From shadow puppets and magical worlds in plastic, to hand puppets and rod puppets, the sets and characters conjure known and imaginary constellations. Admission is $18 general admission, $15 students/seniors and $12 Museum members. Learn more and buy tickets at the Longmont Museum website or 303-651-8374.
