City Council to consider downtown Longmont hotel proposal

A proposal to build a boutique hotel on the corner of 3rd Avenue and Kimbark Street will be presented to the Longmont City Council at their meeting on Nov. 15. The proposed hotel currently includes approximately 84 guest rooms, 5,000 square feet of destination rooftop restaurant space, 2,000 to 4,000 square feet of meeting space, 2,000 square feet of commercial space, about 65 hotel parking spaces, and 75 public parking spaces (achieved through a one-level parking deck). Updates to utility rates and Longmont CAReS rebates

The Longmont City Council is considering an update to Longmont’s electric and wastewater rates in order to continue providing reliable, high-quality service to the community. This would affect electric rates for 2023 and storm drainage rates for 2023-25. If adopted, a typical residential customer in 2023 would pay an additional $3.43/month in electric rates ($1.82 of which was already adopted in 2022) and an additional $4.55/month for wastewater. Longmont CAReS participants would also get greater rebates, including the City’s first-ever wastewater rebate. The measure is currently set for a Nov. 15 first reading vote by the council; if approved, a final vote would come in December. More information, including a link to the detailed proposal, can be found longmontcolorado.gov/RateChanges.
