COLORADO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION

DENVER - A Public Utilities Commission (PUC) administrative law judge will conduct a remote public comment hearing on Wednesday, September 1, regarding the Public Service Company of Colorado’s proposed cost recovery approach for the costs incurred by both its electric and gas utilities during the February 2021 extreme weather event.

The public comment hearing will begin at 4:30 p.m. and last until concluded, but no later than 6:30 p.m. Individuals who wish to provide public comments during the hearing may do so either by telephone or computer. Detailed instructions on how to participate by phone or computer can be found in the decision setting the public comment hearing.

The Public Service Company of Colorado’s initial proposal requests approval to spread costs incurred during the February event across a 24-month period that would not include carrying cost through its Gas Cost Adjustment or Electric Commodity Adjustment mechanisms while Public Service Company states that its plan will reduce customer impacts.

Individuals who wish to review the proposed cost recovery plan prior to the public comment hearing can access it through the PUC’s EFilings system.

Members of the public also may submit written comments about the proposal by using the PUC’s on-line comment form at https://puc.colorado.gov/puccomments under proceeding 21A-0192EG.

The PUC administrative law judge has scheduled a hearing on the proposed cost recovery for September 1, 2021, with a decision on the rate proposal to be issued by March 7, 2022.
