Ongoing Opportunities

Mining Museum Tour Guide

Boulder County Parks and Open Space is now accepting applications for volunteers to work at the Nederland Mining Museum and James F. Bailey Assay Office Museum.

Mining Museum Guides
Volunteer tour guides welcome visitors to the museums, teach them about the mining history of Boulder County, and answer questions about the exhibits and the local area. There are also opportunities to lead educational programs for organized groups, such as schools, senior centers, and interest groups.

  • Hours vary depending on site, but average between 4-8 hours per month.
  • Application deadline is April 3.
  • Training takes place April 30.

Agricultural Heritage Center

Spring will be here soon and that means the Agricultural Heritage Center will be busy!

We are now accepting applications for the following volunteer positions:

Tour Guides and Farmhouse Docents 
Volunteer tour guides and farmhouse docents teach visitors about the agricultural history of Boulder County between 1900 and 1925. The application deadline is March 5. 

Gardeners 
Volunteer gardeners help plan, plant, weed, water, and harvest the heirloom garden. The application deadline is April 1. 

Livestock Caretakers 
Volunteer livestock caretakers feed a wide variety of livestock on a consistent schedule. The application deadline is April 10.
