Trail runner sustains minor injury on the Green Bear Trail

Boulder County, Colo. - On Friday, June 23, 2022 at approximately 10:14 a.m., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an injured runner on City of Boulder Open Space Mountain Parks Green Bear Trail.

A City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Ranger was first to arrive with the patient followed by Rocky Mountain Rescue Group personnel. After stabilizing the patient, rescuers moved the patient in a litter to a fire access road. The 23-year-old female from Castle Rock was transported to her vehicle and sought her own medical treatment. The rescue took approximately two hours.

Agencies assisting with the rescue included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, Mountain View Fire Protection District, and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
