With COVID-19, it is more important than ever to make sure your voter registration mailing address is up-to-date in order to receive your mail ballots for the two upcoming elections: the June Primary (if eligible) and the November General Election.
Please review the information below on the upcoming June Primary, and then take a moment to review your voter registration online to make sure everything is accurate and up-to-date.

June Primary:
To participate in the June Primary Election, you must be registered as a Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, or Unaffiliated voter. Ballots for the June 30 Primary are mailed to all eligible voters beginning June 8. Here are the details:
- Official ballot content will not be ready until next week. However, a preliminary (subject to change) list of ballot contests and candidates has been posted on our Election Information page.
- Registered Democrats will receive only the Democratic Party ballot. Registered Republicans will receive only the Republican Party ballot. Registered Libertarians will receive only the Libertarian Party ballot. No other parties are holding primaries.
- By law, unless a ballot preference has been specified, unaffiliated voters will be mailed both major party (Dem and Rep) ballots but can only vote and return one ballot.
- Up until June 1, unaffiliated voters have the option to designate a ballot preference (including Libertarian), if they wish, by updating their voter registration ballot preference. If a ballot preference is selected, the unaffiliated voter will only receive the ballot for their selected preference in the mail. See our Unaffiliated FAQ for more details.
- June 1 is also the deadline to switch party affiliation if you want to vote in a different primary.
COVID-19 Planning
Boulder County Elections staff are hard at work preparing to incorporate public health COVID-19 safety guidelines into our ballot processing and Voter Service Center activities.
We are busy implementing changes to create as safe an environment as possible for our election judges and workers, staff, and voters. This includes devising new protocols, procedures, and plans, such as physical distancing requirements, wearing masks, installing Plexiglas barriers (where applicable), and plans for increased cleanings.
While we are in unprecedented times, Colorado is fortunate to have a statewide mail ballot voting model with the ability to register to vote through election day. Our team is 100% dedicated and working hard to ensure that participating in democracy won’t undermine public health. Please do your part by making sure your voter registration address is correct so you can safely receive, vote and return your mail ballot and eliminate the need to come into a vote center.
