Boulder County Parks & Open Space and Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff will present a status update on the Ron Stewart Preserve Elk & Vegetation Management Plan to the Boulder County Commissioners.

This presentation will review the first two years of implementation and make recommendations for the third year plan. The Board of County Commissioners will be asked for their approval of staff recommendations for year three of the Elk and Vegetation Management Plan.
The second successful season of managed hunting ended on Jan. 31. Progress continues in the direction outlined in the management plan:
- Reducing the numbers of elk using Ron Stewart Preserve year-round.
- Reducing impacts to the property’s diverse vegetation.
- Getting elk to move beyond their six-mile high use area.
