On August 1, 2020 at approximately 8:50 PM the Sheriff's Office was made aware of a possible fire near Button Rock Reservoir. Lyon's Fire Department as well as the US Forrest Service and the Boulder County Sheriff's Office responded. The fire is located on the south side of the reservoir in a remote area with no easy access. The fire was estimated to be about 1/4 acre and it was decided to monitor the fire overnight.
At this point the US Forest Service is taking lead on the fire, but jurisdiction has not been determined. Resources are requested to respond in the morning to attack the fire.
