The City of Longmont will be sending crews to apply chip seal treatments to area roadways during the week of August 27.

This maintenance is not expected to close roadways, however, delays should be expected. According to a press release from the City of Longmont:

Most of the areas selected for chip seal treatment are residential; higher traffic sections include Mountain View Avenue (Hover Street to Francis Street) and County Line Road (south of Zlaten Drive to north of 9th Avenue). This program is funded by the City’s ¾-cent Street Fund sales and use tax. View a map of the treatment areas.

Boulder County Transportation is cleaning out Bike-n-Ride shelters. These shelters have seen several bikes abandoned there which is causing congestion. "Bikes are only to be stored for up to one month at a time or they could be tagged for removal and disposal," states Alexandra Phillips, Boulder County bike planner.

Phillips also says, "We want to give owners of the abandoned bikes (and other items left behind) ample notice to remove their bikes before the county disposes of any bicycles."

Currently, Phillips is working with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Boulder Police Department, the county attorney and the City of Boulder bike coordinator to develop new terms, procedures and conditions to address Bike-n-ride issues that have arisen over the lifetime of these shelters.

The current terms and conditions are posted on the county's bike-n-ride webpage.  If you have questions or concerns, contact Alexandra Phillips [email protected] or at 303-441-4520.
