A procession to honor Boulder police officer Eric Talley, killed Monday in the mass shooting at a King Soopers store that also left nine others dead, will take place this afternoon.
“All are invited to join us as we line up with vehicles and on foot this afternoon to show our support for fallen Boulder Police Officer Eric Talley as his body is transported from the coroner’s office to the funeral home in Aurora,” the Boulder Office of Emergency Management stated in a post to its website.
Individuals who would like to join in showing support are asked to line up along the west side of Foothills Parkway between Pearl Street and South Boulder Road before 3 p.m. The procession will begin at 3 p.m. and travel part of Pearl Street and Foothills Parkway before leaving town on U.S. 36, according to the Boulder OEM.
Roads and intersections will be briefly closed as the hearse is escorted by law enforcement vehicles. Neighbors who live in the area are advised that they will likely see additional vehicle and foot traffic during this time, but the procession will be through the area by 3:30 p.m., according to the post.
